You groom for the brand. Own the business instead.
You do the grooms, build the clients, and make the location shine — but the prices, the schedule, and the book belong to the brand. A Snout suite makes the business yours: one flat $450 a week, 100% of every groom, your clients, your hours, your name on the door.
The same week of dogs. A wage, or a business.
On a single dog the split never feels like much. Across a full week it's the difference between a paycheck and a business that's yours.
On a 50% split, half of a $2,550 week stays with the location.
Same dogs, same hours, same hands. As staff on a split, the location keeps about $1,275 of your week — you keep the rest. In your own suite you pay one flat $450 and keep everything else. That's roughly $39,600 more a year in your pocket, for the exact same grooms.
Illustrative estimate only — not a guarantee. Based on 6 dogs/day × $85 average groom × 5 days = $2,550/week in services. Your real results depend on your prices, schedule, bookings, and market.
Run your own numbersIt stops being the brand's. It starts being yours.
The money is the headline. But ask any groomer who left a franchise location to go independent and this is what they really mean by ownership.
Be the owner, not the staff
Stop grooming for the brand on the building. The business becomes yours — your name, your book, your call on how every day runs.
Keep the whole groom
No split, no wage after the location's cut. You charge your clients and keep 100% of it — service and tip both stay with you.
Your hours, your prices
No assigned shifts and no set price book. Open when you want, set your own rates, and raise them when you're booked solid.
Your clients, forever
The book you build is yours to keep — not tied to the brand. If you ever move on, your clients come with you.
Why franchise-location groomers do the math and switch
As staff you keep a wage and the location owns the relationship. A membership gives you the whole groom — and the business — for one predictable weekly fee.

We built independence to be the safe choice.
Leaving a steady job used to mean a six-figure buildout and a personal guarantee. We took that risk off the table so you don't have to carry it.
Month-to-month, no contract
No long-term lease and no personal guarantee. Stay because it's working for your business, not because you're locked in.
Earning within a week
Most groomers are set up and serving clients within a week of joining. Bring your book and you can be booked from day one.
No buildout, no risk
We took on the construction, permits, and six-figure investment. You walk into a finished suite — table and dryer included — for $0 down.
The traditional salon model doesn't work for groomers who've invested in their craft. They build the skill, build the client base, and still hand over half. So I decided to take on all the risk myself — the buildout, the permits, the investment — to create a third option. The groomer keeps 100% of their grooms, and nobody's stuck fighting over the split.
Going independent from a franchise — FAQ
I groom at a franchise location — how is Snout different?
At a franchise location you're on staff: the brand sets the prices, owns the client list, assigns your shifts, and keeps a share of every groom. A Snout suite flips that — you run your own grooming business out of a private, fully-equipped suite for one flat $450 a week, keep 100% of what you charge, set your own hours and prices, and the clients are yours. Same skill, but you're the owner instead of the staff.
Can I bring the clients I've built at the location?
Your clients book you for your work, and many will follow you. At Snout that book becomes yours to keep for good. Check any agreement you signed with your current employer first — especially any non-compete or client-list terms — then run your own numbers in the calculator to see what going independent looks like.
Isn't it risky to leave a steady job?
Going independent used to mean a six-figure buildout and a personal guarantee. We took that off the table. Membership is month-to-month with no long-term contract, so you can step into ownership without betting your savings — and most groomers are booked within their first week.
What's included in the $450 a week?
Your private suite with its own Waggz LED table and dryer, shared professional bathing tubs, utilities, WiFi, towel service, cleaning, and lobby access — all-inclusive. There's a one-time member initiation fee (roughly one week's membership) to get set up. We never take a commission on your grooming revenue.
How quickly can I move in and start earning?
Most groomers are set up and serving clients within one week of joining. We provide an onboarding kit so you can start booking right away.
